If one is good, two is definitly better

This Holiday Season, Corda Technologies doubles efforts to supply water buffalos to needy families in Southeast Asia Lindon, Utah, December 19, 2002 - Employees at CORDA Technologies, a Lindon, Utah-based developer of dynamic, interactive, data-driven graphing solutions decided to increase the water buffalo population used in Southeast Asia rice fields by two. It started during last year's Holiday Season when employees decided to donate money to Heifer International to purchase a water buffalo for a family in Asia. The organization places a pregnant female animal with the stipulation that the first offspring of the animal be placed with another family in need. This helps the program become self-perpetuating, with a single gift helping an exponential number of families as the program unfolds.

Corda's employees felt so positive about their participation in last year's program that they decided to double their contributions and get two buffalos this year.

In Southeast Asia, water buffalos are used as farm implements in areas where environmental conditions will not permit modern farm equipment to operate.

Neal Williams, CEO of Corda said, "Water buffalos go where modern machines can't. I have seen these animals pulling plows in rice fields that would bury a tractor up to its axles in mud. The animals give people a means to support themselves. That type of giving goes well beyond the initial gift and continues to help families for years. Because of our donation, we at Corda have the satisfaction of knowing that we have helped in some small way to improve lives."
