CORDA Technologies Leads The Data Visualization Industry With OptiMap™, New Dynamic Online Mapping Tool

New product from the developer of PopChart™ provides image-based data mapping for location-sensitive information, from geographic maps to facility schematics- February 3, 2003, Lindon, Utah--CORDA Technologies, Inc., a Lindon, Utah based developer of the PopChart™ family of dynamic, interactive, Web-based charting and graphing solutions, today announced the introduction of a new product called OptiMap. OptiMap is a charting solution for quickly and easily creating dynamic web-based maps. The resulting maps can integrate and display data from multiple databases. The application possibilities are endless: a national atlas of business sites, a map of cancer occurrence, sales results displayed by geographic location, or even an up-to-the second chart of airline or stadium seating.

OptiMap creates data visualization solutions that are more visually appealing and far easier and less expensive to generate than traditional GIS maps. The new OptiMap product is available now.

One of the most notable aspects of OptiMap is for federal government agencies and those doing business with federal customers, OptiMap charts are fully Section 508 compliant, providing the ability to have the full descriptive text of the map available to the visually impaired through an audible screen reader. OptiMap is the first and currently the only product to make online maps fully accessible for the visually impaired.

OptiMap will benefit the IT professional as well as end users of mapped data. OptiMap is easy to learn and use, and is fully compatible with the PopChart family of charting and graphing solutions. The product can be integrated with PopChart for implementations that require both mapping and traditional web charts and graphs.

OptiMap permits developers to connect directly to a database or even to multiple data sources. The resulting maps change dynamically as the data underneath them evolves. OptiMap displays can be printed and shared through PDF and EPS output.

As with all Corda solutions, OptiMap is ready for the rapidly emerging Web Services market including .NET and Java with end-to-end support of XML. Through XML, information can be easily extracted and exchanged between databases, enhancing e-commerce and business intelligence applications. OptiMap allows users to deliver and utilize maps and geographic presentations as a Web Service.

OptiMap provides Flash, SVG, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images that have drilldown and popup features to assist in navigating through data. There is wireless and handheld support using WBMP output. OptiMap works with any database and any browser, and with Best Image Fallback, the highest quality image is always delivered to the browser.

To run OptiMap, customers will need the OptiMap server application and the OptiMap Builder™. These two products are sold together as OptiMap Foundation™ for US$6,990.
