Stopping, Starting, and Restarting the Corda Server

You usually only need to restart the Corda Server™ when you are upgrading it or changing its configurations, or when it has stopped functioning properly. Corda Server Administrator warns you when to restart the Corda Server by showing you the following message at the top of the page:

 

Note: Restart the Corda Server anytime you change its configuration settings (but not after uploading Image Template files or changing the path permissions). When you change a setting, a notice prompting you to restart the Corda Server appears on the top of the page. Click the word restart in this notice to restart the Corda Server without following the steps below.

To restart the Corda Server

  1. Log in to Corda Server Administrator.

    If you do not know how to do this, see Using Corda Server Administrator.

  2. Click the Home button in the top left corner.

  3. Click Restart.

To stop the Corda Server

This temporarily stops Corda Server. It does not stop other Corda Server processes, such as Corda Server Administrator. To start Corda Server once you have stopped it, follow the steps outlined in To start the Corda Server below. Do not attempt to start it with the installed shortcut or executable.

  1. Log in to Corda Server Administrator.

    If you do not know how to do this, see Using Corda Server Administrator.

  2. Click the Home button in the top left corner.

  3. Click Stop .

To start the Corda Server

These steps assume that Corda Server has been stopped using the steps outlined in To stop the Corda Server above. To start Corda Server in any other situation, see Starting Corda Server.

  1. Log in to Corda Server Administrator.

    If you do not know how to do this, see Using Corda Server Administrator.

  2. Click the Home button in the top left corner.

  3. Click Start .

You only see this button if Corda Server has already been stopped.

To stop all Corda Server processes

Complete these steps to kill all Corda Server processes, including Corda Server Administrator. Once you have done this, the only way to start the Corda Server again is to click the installed shortcut or run the executable.

  1. Log in to Corda Server Administrator.

    If you do not know how to do this, see Using Corda Server Administrator.

  2. Using the menu on the left, go to the Server Settings > Stop All screen.

  3. Click Stop All.

    A popup window asks for confirmation. Click Yes.
